4. Further study is needed to determine actual feasibility for this project.
D. OPTIONS CONSIDERED
1. There were two options considered for accommodating the Public Works staff.
2. One option was to maintain full staffing for Administration, Engineering and
Survey downtown. This was considered the least efficient use of Public Works funds.
3. The savings and productivity gains were best realized with the second option of
moving to the Roads facility. The second option also provided greater customer service to the
customer base.
E. RISKS AND LIABILITIES
1. A conditional use permit is apparently required for a new building at the Silverton
Road facility and there is no guarantee that it will be granted.
2. The septic and water needs also have to be addressed.
3. The current facility's electrical needs are already under powered and a study is
underway to determine the extent of the required upgrades. This issue should also be studied
with a new facility in mind.
PAGE 28
ksj/cd/Facilities.tnt 04/07/95
