These costs will result from time committed to
meetings at the call of the Commissioning Agent. Since the Development Team has as yet not selected a
Commissioning Agent, it is difficult to estimate the level of involvement required.
We propose that time required by the commissioning process to attend meetings at the call of the
Commissioning Agent and complete tasks assigned by the Commissioning Agent, be billed at our then current
hourly rates. We estimate that the fees could amount to approximately $5,000 for Intertace Engineering and
a further $2,500 for Arbuckle Costic Architects. It should be noted that the amount estimated by Interface
Engineering would not be billed, if through the selection process, they also become the Commissioning Agent.
Clearly, if they are the Commissioning Agent for the County, they wouid not need to caii themselves to related
meetings. Oliver has further indicated that it would be advantageous for the County and SAMTD, if Interface
Engineering were retained to pertorm the testing and balancing work as well as the commissioning.
Should you have any questions regarding the above, please call.
Sincere,~~
/--- ~ -
Leonard Lodder, A.I.A.
Architect
LL:Ib
cc: John Whittington, Salem Area Mass Transit
Craig Lewis, Melvin Mark Development Company
9828.1 A
