Budget Calendar President Carabailo asked Board members to note the dates shown in the Budget process outlined on page 50 -of the agenda;- and- to-mark- their -- calendars for the April 9 Budget Committee meeting. ,,~1 The Motion nassed as foflows: AYES: Campbell, Caraballo, Kelley, Newton, Swenson, Towslee, Wieprecht (7) NAYS: None (0) ABSTENTIONS: None (0) ABSENT: None (0) Ms. Lorensen said it has always been a practice of the District not to pay Adopt Resolution #97-26, for employee meal b~eaks, and most employees are granted 30 minutes to Personnel Policy an hour for an unpaid meai break. It has been found in the past that the Amendments Operations Supervisors are required to carry their radios with them and to interrupt thei~ meal breaks frequen~y to respond to emergency or ~ unforeseen situations, and the District wants to be able to pay them 30 minutes per day which will be induded in their hour's work and they will catch their meals when they can. pirector CamRbell moved to adoot Resolution #97-26_ Personnei Policv Amendment. ABSENT: None (0) Adopt Resolution #97-27, Referring to a handout memo and Resolution (herein given as Attachment General Operating A and by this reference made a pa~t of these minutes), Mr. Andersen- Account, First Security Wyckoff said this item is one of the unfortunate spin-offs of the artides Bank of Oregon published by the Statesman Joumal. The newspaper chose to publish a copy of a District check showing all the bank account numbers and signatures of the officers of the District. As a result of that, the account had to be closed and moved to another bank. By this action, the first bank lost millions of dollars of deposits of the DistricYs federal funds in order to avoid the published check being copied into computers and issued against the checking account of the District. This is brought to the Board as an emergency item to adopt Resolution #97-27 allowing the District to now deposit that money in the new ba~k account so that checks can be issued against it for the District. 1'he Motion nassed as follows: AYES: Campbell, Caraballo, Kelley, Newton, Swenson, Towslee, Wieprecht (7) NAYS: None (0) ABSTENTIONS: None (0) B ENT: None (0) REPORTS Mr. Andersen-Wyckoff noted that the Holiday Parade is coming up, and the District's holiday bus will be in the parade again.
