- newsstand, coffeeshop, deli, etc. Adjacent to <br />~- that is the main entrance to the county office <br />space which is separate from the transit <br />entrance. The first floor will have a 200 capacity <br />hearing room, rnailroom and supply room for both <br />organizations. <br />The five story building will house approximately <br />32,Q00 square feet per floor. Transit will occupy <br />approximately 10,000 square feet for their <br />administrative offices with 2500 square feet for <br />expansion. The remainder of the floors will have <br />county administratio~ offices. <br />Some of the major design constraints for the <br />building was having a transit mall running <br />through the middle of the site and having an <br />efficient parking design underneath the building. <br />They have done the best to get the most efficient <br />use of space. <br />The building is designed to be brick and glass to <br />fit in with the other down~own buildings. <br />Retail and private enterprise is the plan for the <br />piece of iand on the Chemeketa Street side of the <br />site. There will be an RFP process to establish a <br />private partner. This process wil{ have design <br />guidelines to fit in with the master plan for this <br />block. <br />There wiil be signalization at the mall for bus and <br />pedestrian safety. <br />There are 258 parking spaces planned at this <br />time onfy under the public portion of the building. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, 12/4/97, PAG~ 3 <br />53 <br />
