~
~
Elyn reported that equipment for the microwave tower has arrived. Bill Worcester has looked at
the site, but hasn't begun working on it. Dan has provided him with the floor plan on disk.
ACTION: Elyn will follow up on the microwave set up. To help facilitate the installation,
she'll contact Bob Hansen.
Relocation:
Elyn and Bob are still fine tuning the moving schedule. Many departments have already notified
their customers of the dates of their move. Those that have done this are reluctant to make
changes to their moving schedule.
Leases:
Randy asked Elyn for the reports on the budget for the departments renting space in the Annex.
Elyn doesn't have all the numbers at this time but she is finding that a couple of the departments
will have a little leeway. For the most part, there is no opportunity to raise the rent over $1 sf.
She doesn't have the numbers that departments are using in their 97/98 budget. Randy is hoping
the departments are, minimally, using last year's numbers (96/97). He is looking at a large
subsidy for the Annex over the next two years.
ACTION: Elyn will find out what amounts departments are budgeting for 97/98.
Other:
Dan reported that we have the occupancy permit from the county.
Bob asked if there has been any discussion around the Best signs. There are two stand-alone
signs and one on the front of the building. We will have to contract with someone to remove the
sign from the building face. The doors will have to modified by disconnecting the automatic
floor pads.
Dan gave Randy samples of the county signage for the Annex, to review.
There was discussion around the floor plans and access to Purchasing and the Copy Center in the
warehouse. The current layout doesn't show a pathway to the warehouse. Purchasing and Fiscal
will be using the side entrance. Randy suggested that Richard send a letter to his customers,
letting them know which entrance to use.
The entrance doors to the Annex will be keyed the same as the Senator Building. Employees
have been asking about the hours of operation for their offices. This is something that
departments will have to address. Elyn has had departments ask if we will pay for the printing of
business cards, letterhead and envelops with the new address. Richard will print the letterhead
and envelops and bill the cost to the project. Print orders for business cards will have to be sent
out. The departments will be told to save their old business cards. It is possible that the new
address of Courthouse Square will be 220 High Street NE.
~ Elyn emphasized that county employees and the public cannot take materials and equipment that
departments are throwing away. She has been getting questions from employees on this. She
also pointed out that the moving boxes cannot be destroyed or taken by employees or their
family members. They cost $.50 each and are to be returned to the mover.
