~, . <br />COURTHOUSE SQUARE MANAGER'S MEETING <br />May 28, 1997 <br />Present: Ra.ndy, Richard, Elyn, Dan, Traci, and Peggy <br />Project Manager Status <br />Randy will be involved in interviewing for the project manager position today. The three <br />companies being interviewed are: Larry Mattson of C& P Systems; 7erry Milstead of <br />Milstead & Associates from Clacka,mas; and Melvin Mark Development Company of <br />Portland. Melvin Mark Compa.ny is a large, multifaceted development company. <br />Milstead & Associates is a more traditional project management and construction <br />company, who has worked on various projects with the State of Oregon. Larry Mattson <br />is the only local company. He started out in general construction and has recently gotten <br />into project management. <br />Questions about whether the project manager would require office space/equipment in <br />the Courthouse or on-site with the general contractor were discussed. Randy didn't feel <br />this was something we needed to be concemed with. They will be acting as a consultant <br />and it would be their responsibility to ta.ke care of their needs. Elyn was concerned that <br />if she needed to be looking at this area, a head start would be helpful. <br />~ Demolition Contract <br />The demolition contractor is off to a slow start, but is on site. They had to trench across <br />the parking lot for power. Has Facilities Management had any other requests from them? <br />Dan had not heazd from them. We are still a little behind schedule. <br />What is the target date for completion, January, 1999? No, it has always been April, <br />1999. Since we are starting a month late, we may be slipping to May, 1999. It is <br />scheduled as a 20 month construction project. Since we are going through the building <br />commissioning process, it may ta.ke an extra 30 days before we can occupy the building. <br />Anneg <br />We may need to notify the owners of the annex that we may have problems moving out <br />of the annex site on our scheduled time frame. Our lease expires May 1, 1999. Dan <br />seems to think it is problem we should be aware of, and we will want to know well in <br />advance if we will have problems with e~rtending our lease if the project is delayed. This <br />is an issue to address in the ne~ couple months. <br />Department Head Meeting <br />The plan for the meeting Friday at 1:30 pm will be to give a brief status report of the <br />project and where we are currently. I will have a hand out sheet with square foota.ge and <br />how each space is laid out. We will discuss budget, concepts of allocating space and why <br />County will be on 2nd floor. The way plans are looking now, Richard and his group <br />will be on the north central part of the block and will be in the same area as the rest of <br />the General Services group, who will occupy the northwest corner.
