....
~ planning a service elevator (one floor) in area for the mailroom. Ra.ndy has worked
with trying to situate the mailroom/copy center and the Boa.rd of Commissioners office
areas first and then filling in with the rest of the departments.
Discussions were held as to participation in the meeting from General Services staff. GS
staff is at an advantage over the rest of the department heads because of their
participation in our weekly meetings. One reason for Da,n and Bob to attend is to make
sure that maintenance and custodial staff feel they know what is going on and can have
some influence or impact in their areas.
Bob met with the azchitect last week regarding the process of hiring a building
commissioning agent and we haven't had a report back yet.
The architect may go out to the annex to see how our departments are using space. We
are not sure if they will just show up or request a walk-through. They do have all copies
of our cunent floor plans.
Some of the fun parts of project are just now beginning. Randy has asked the azchitects
in their interior design plan to try and keep e~rterior windows open to create more natural
light. Private offices may or may not have windows. They will not necessarily be along
the outside windows. We are looking at putting a glass panel by the door to carry light
in, or putting glass panels on top of doors to bring light through. We are looking at a
couple different options and costs will be a determining factor. The office area we are
working with is 120 feet across. We want to be able to give each department fle~bility
in designing their space as long as it won't impact design and costs.
Will everyone in the new 6uilding have a parking space? We should be back to the
ratios we had at the Senator, but a little better. We are not planning for everyone to have
a parking space. We have 377 potential parking spaces in the project, and 150 will be
allocated to the County. The remaining spaces will go to the other tenants. We will be
looking at a minimum charge of $50 or more per space.
Meeting adjourned.
