Maynard - has no firm opinion,
~ ed u on recommendations 9 ro'ect mana ement would be controlled by County,
Randy, bas p ( ) p .1 $
constructions private,
Mary - can we offer COP's for the part of the project that Transit is using.,
RG - critical, transit portion is financed, does not need to use COP's, but does have that option.
County can issue COP's, savings for the taxpayer, (recorder...) COP's are the number 1 choice
for the County's portion. Transits key concern is the quality of the developer who is going to pull
this together, prefers local architect engineer, not long distance to Canada. Would be comfortable
with either, but what makes it easier to do a better job, most interested in local.
Mary - long term land use/management, long term private manager local
RG- transits primary concern, but the whole project, local has a stake in the community
Richard - key point Maynard pointed out, never look very far beyond the t~ at hand, because any
private equity could be sold, if it is successful, it will be sold, does not look at longevity, but the
relationship to cause the project happen - not comfortable with either team, could gain
comfortability,
~ Gary - how does chair propose, was hoping for consensus, what is the committee's desire, whether
to make a decision now or to ... asked
Ra.ndy and RG will vote.
Ann - questioned, County's immediate space needs, projects space needs will expand over next
twenty years, questioned if the block of public ownership can only be used publicly, does this
change, and what effects
Randy, (recorder...) Prudential suggested using the Franklin as an asset. Asked Maynard about
Gary - related experience regarding Hatfield's influence and the reality of his impact on the project.
Randy - stated that the clout of Hatfield's (recorder...) loss of his leverage
Bill - questioned private usage (SABA) management, questioned if the City
Mary -(recorder...) can management retail space, it is not favorite
Richard - as a general rule, does not approve/support public sector managing private, can be to
advantage if it is incidental. may have same circumstance in this case, but not a motivation of the
~ project.
