Workmanship
The power supply to the new control panel will need to be a minimum 60A,240V,single-phase circuit
(L1,L2,N,G)for the pumps and blower, and a minimum 20A, 120V,single-phase circuit(L1,N,G)for
the controls and panel heater.A subpanel/breaker box may need to be mounted adjacent to the control
panel to provide a means of disconnect. The Installer will need to coordinate with the facility to identify
the power supply for the panel. The pump and control systems and related appurtenances shall be installed
in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, the approved plans, and all appropriate electrical
codes.Placement, assembly, and installation shall be conducted to facilitate easy operation, maintenance,
repair, removal and replacement. All components shall be clearly marked in a permanent and professional
manner,consistent with the design,to facilitate identification,monitoring,and troubleshooting.The
Installer shall retain a licensed electrician to extend the power supply to the control panel and will be
responsible for obtaining the necessary electrical permits and inspections.Copies of all permits, inspection
reports, panel diagrams, and drawings of any approved"as built"changes shall be provided to the
Inspector by the Installer.
5_6 Subsurface Soil Absorption System -Standard Trenches
Materials
• Drain Media—Clean, washed, round rock meeting the criteria in OAR 340-071-0100(53) with a
preference for uniformity biased toward the smaller end of the acceptable range(3/4-inch size)shall
be durable and free of excess fines,or EZflow—Model 1202H-Geo.
• Filter Fabric — Meeting the criteria in OAR 340-073-0041 to cover the drain media from one
sidewall to the other and from the beginning to the end of each trench.
• Standard Effluent Distribution Piping and Fittings-See Materials section under Piping and
Plumbing.
• Distribution Boxes—Manufactured as outlined in OAR 340-73-0035 and installed with tight pipe
connections to minimize root intrusion and effluent exfiltration.
Workmanship
The Installer shall stake out the effluent distribution system and the routing of all related components prior
± . to initiating construction.Any obstacles,non-conforming grades,or other factors that would prohibit
installation or modify locations shall be flagged for review with the Designer.Any modifications will
require approval by the Designer.Drawings of any approved"as built"changes noting pertinent
dimensions, reference points, and elevations shall be provided to the Inspector by the Installer.
The bottom of each drainfield trench and the distribution piping shall be level within a tolerance of plus or
minus one inch from the point of beginning(point where the distribution header is connected to the
distribution box).Total trench depth shall be within the minimum and maximum limits shown on the
approved plans.Raking of the bottom and sidewalls of the trenches may be necessary to remove smearing
created during excavation.Roots greater than'/2-inch in diameter shall be cut at the edge of the excavation
and removed.
The drain media or EZ flow shall be placed in the trenches in a manner that minimizes compaction,
disturbance, and sloughing of sidewall soils or spoils. The top surface of the drain rock shall be level.
Drain media shall be covered with filter fabric prior to inspection.Monitoring ports shall be installed as
shown on the plans.
CES-Albany,OR St.Innocent Winery and Tasting Room I P&S
Doc:2018240028 St.Innocent Winery Plans&Specs May 2018 I Page 6
