Participates in snow and ice removal; loads and applies sand, gravel and deicer to roads; plows <br />snow from road way; installs vehicle chains. <br />6. Operates trucks, trailers and related equipment; hauls and dumps road maintenance and repair <br />materials; Loads and transports road equipment. <br />7. Operates loaders, tractors, mowers, sweepers, and related maintenance equipment. May perform <br />supporting functions for heavy equipment operations. <br />8. Accesses computer information such as inventory and maintenance records, and material safety <br />and data information; electronically processes daily time sheets. <br />9. Operates computer sign plotter to make a variety of traffic control signs. Maintain road <br />appurtenances database. <br />10. May transport and work with Correction Crews in various road and right of way projects. <br />11. Performs carpentry work for bridge construction and other construction maintenance. <br />12. Installs and maintains traffic signs, pavement markings, and traffic control devices. <br />13. May assist in ferry maintenance and dredging operations. <br />14. May be assigned to duties at Environmental Services solid waste disposal sites and transfer <br />stations, seasonal projects, and programs related to an assigned technical area. <br />15. May be assigned to work in the Emergency Coordinator Center (ECC) <br />Is responsible for fostering positive and safe working environments. <br />MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />1. Graduation from high school; AND <br />2. *Two (2) years of experience in the operation of motorized road maintenance and construction <br />equipment and the performance of semi-skilled manual tasks; OR <br />3. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, or experience relevant to the <br />position. <br />* Depending on the position, experience in a specialized field may be required i.e. land fill operations, <br />sign shop maintenance. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />• Must possess a valid Oregon CDL-A license with tank endorsement at time of hire with an acceptable <br />driver's record. <br />• Must possess a current driver's license with an acceptable driving history; AND possess, OR obtain <br />within 6 months of hire, a valid Oregon CDL-A license with tank endorsement. A valid driver's license and <br />CDL permit with medical card is required at time of hire. <br />• Some positions will require possession of, or obtain within five (5) months of hire, certification as a <br />Right-of-Way Public Pesticide applicator's license. <br />• Must be a certified Flagger with the State of Oregon or able to obtain within 30 days. <br />• Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, conviction of a crime may not <br />necessarily disqualify an individual for this classification. <br />• Must successfully complete FEMA ICS/NIMS IS-100/700 certification training within 90 days of hire. <br />• Must obtain Awareness and Limited Operations' level hazardous material clean up training. <br />• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination by a county appointed medical doctor <br />and have good physical agility. <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/marion/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSpecID=...8/4/2020 <br /> <br />
